QUETTA: Six people, including three personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and four others wounded in separate incidents of bomb blast and firing different towns of Balochistan on Thursday.
According to official sources, a convoy of FC was on its way when explosives planted along the road in Balnagor area of Mand town (in Kech district) exploded soon after the convoy passed by. As a result three FC personnel were killed and four others wounded. The blast was so powerful that it badly damaged a vehicle of security forces.
Personnel FC and other local law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. The dead and injured FC personnel were moved to hospital where the deceased were identified as Naik Tariq Mehmood, soldier Muhammad Saleem and Lance Naik Naiz Hassan.
Sources said that the explosives were detonated through a remote controlled device. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack till filing this report.
In another incident, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a restaurant located on Sariab Road Quetta. Resultantly, two people Niaz Muhammad owner of restaurant and Haji Gul sustained serious wounds and died on the spot.
The assailants escaped from the scene after committing the crime. However, motive behind the killing could be ascertained.
Moreover, unidentified people opened fire on one Fateh Muhammad Khosa near Manjipur police picket and fled from the scene. Consequently, he succumbed to his injuries.
