The Balochistan conflict is an ongoing conflict between Baloch nationalists and the Government of Pakistan over Balochistan, the country's largest province. Baloch nationalists demanding greater political rights, autonomy and control over their natural resources, have led four insurgencies - in 1948, 1958-59, 1962-63 and 1973-77 - which have been brutally suppressed by the Pakistani army. Current insurgency started in 2004 by Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and Mir Balach Marri, both killed in army operations.
